Step onto centre court with a volumetric capture of Andy Murray.

American Express has launched Champion’s Rally – an augmented reality (AR) mobile game that gives Wimbledon fans the chance to be coached by a volumetric capture of tennis star, Andy Murray.

Rally with a tennis champion.

This virtual experience is designed to include those who are unable to attend Wimbledon in person, bringing fans closer to the action wherever they are. All that’s needed is a phone to scan a QR code and players can join Andy Murray for a virtual coaching and gameplay experience on the iconic centre court.

Bringing technology to the fans.

The volumetric capture of the two-time Wimbledon champion was provided by Dimension in collaboration with Momentum Worldwide and integrated with 8th Wall’s webAR. Dimension’s work included the volumetric capture in 2k for up to 90 seconds, as well as prop tracking, modelling and replacement of a tennis racket.

"Dimension keeps merging the possibilities of volumetric production and WebAR. This is another incredibly powerful and playful example of delivering stars closer to the fans through volumetric technology and WebAR”
