Sky Scope named Outstanding Production Achievement at SVG Sports TV Awards

SVG Europe has named Sky Scope Outstanding Production Achievement - Innovation at the annual Sports TV Awards, announced during a ceremony live on YouTube on Wednesday 27 May.

The awards celebrate projects which have helped to push sports television forward during the 2019 calendar year.

Sky Scope featured an incredible use of volumetric capture technology, allowing a full 360-degree inspection of a golfer’s swing and for The Open pundits to analyse it like never before. The project, a collaboration between Dimension, MRMC, Nikon, Sky Sports and Sky Creative Agency, was the debut use of the Polymotion Stage, the world’s first mobile 3-in-1 solution volumetric capture studio.

"Combining volumetric capture and replay to great effect under difficult conditions, the judges felt that Sky Scope was one of those innovations that make you wonder ‘how did they do that?’ This is definitely the kind of innovation that moves the industry forward."
